Colin Farrell Helps Toronto Homeless Man Turn Life Around

CityNews.ca StaffColin Farrell is used to making headlines because of his good looks and big budget roles, but the British mega star was front and centre in Toronto Thursday for playing the part of a philanthropist to a local homeless man.
In town for the Toronto International Film Festival, Farrell showed he didn’t forget about a local homeless man known as Stress, whom he befriended while in town years ago.
This time, the pair were reunited when Farrell was leaving his Yorkville hotel and Stress was outside waiting for him along with dozens of autograph seekers.
When Farrell saw the man, his eyes reportedly lit up and he decided to take Stress to a downtown store where he bought him everything from socks and underwear to a sleeping bag, all of which was top of the line, according to employees of Europe Bound Travel Outfitters.
“They were acting like friends,” said Europe Bound manager Dave Mott. “It was really great to see.”
But the generosity didn’t stop there. After the new threads, Farrell headed off to a bank machine, from which he returned with a wad of cash and arrangements to pay for a nice room for the man to call home for a year.
And when Stress returned to his usual spot in Yorkville, he told a local that Farrell has given him a chance to get off the street.
Their relationship actually began four years ago when Farrell was in Toronto shooting a film. A local radio station was offering $2,000 to anyone who brought him in, prompting the Hollywood star to grab the first homeless person he saw and head over.
That man was Stress, though now his name might more appropriately be “Relaxation.”

I think Colin just saw a kindred spirit in the homeless guy. They both smell a bit, drink a lot, and piss the bed often.
