I ain’t sayin’ he’s a gold digger, but he ain’t messin’ with no broke, broke ….
Kanye West sure does like him some Indian food doesn’t he? What, they don’t have Indian restaurants in New York City? Sheesh. How to big time cultured rap stars/producers survive in such a culturally deprived city. To have to fly in your Indian food from Wales! It must be like living in a third-world or developing country, a place where the comforts of home or that special favorite meal might be hard to come by. A place like, oh, I don’t know, India, perhaps?
Celebrities, just like anyone else, certainly have the right to spend their money (or their record company’s money) however they see fit. No one is going to tell me that I can’t drive 100 miles to my hometown to get lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant. But I can’t help but think of how $3,900 could have helped a lot of people in India, or Wales, or New York City. Back in September 2005, Kanye West made that statement that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” but I can’t help but wonder how much food $3,900 could have bought for Katrina victims still struggling in the Gulf Coast.
And I also can’t help but wonder: when you’re having Indian food delivered all the way from Wales, what do you do if the delivery guy forgets the naan?
