The new hot spot for celebrities in New York City is not an exclusive new club or trendy new restaurant. The new place where celebrities go to see and be seen? The New York City Sanitation Department.
“The San Dep is the new place to go when you want to take your career to the next level,” said British supermodel Naomi Campbell. “I’ve had my agent working on this for years. I told him I would do whatever it takes to get the job. Oddly enough, it was my housekeeper who got me the job. I should send her flowers or something.” Campbell is reprising the role originated by Boy George, who appeared at the Sanitation Department in August 2006.
As part of her five-day run with the “San Dep,” Campell will be appearing in a ultra-hot, members-only Lower East warehouse, where she will be sporting the latest in jumpsuit fashions. “Prada agreed to provide the work boots,” said Campbell, “but we are still taking offers on the overalls and on all accessories. I need looks for both the red carpet and for the stage show.”
Word among the street cleaners is that many stars are clamoring to replace Campbell when her five-day run is over. Said to be in talks with the Sanitation Department’s agents were agents and parole officers representing Paris Hilton, Lane Garrison, and Dame Judi Dench.
